FRACTIONAL ART OWNERSHIP
Making Investments in Masterpieces Accessible
Fractional art ownership allows individuals to buy and trade “shares” of renowned masterpieces in a regulated, transparent marketplace. With Artemundi’s expertise, this innovative model offers an attractive alternative investment for accredited investors through trusted custody and technology providers.
In 2021, Artemundi and Sygnum Bank made history by fractionalizing Picasso’s Fillette au Béret, the first artwork to have its ownership rights tokenized and recorded on a public blockchain by a regulated bank. Accredited investors can now buy and trade “digital shares,” enhancing liquidity and transparency in the art market. This investment opportunity is exclusively available to accredited investors.
In partnership with the Swiss company Splint Invest—operating under FINMA regulations—European investors can now purchase fractional shares of artworks, known as “splints,” starting from just 50 EUR. While investor accreditation is not required, you must comply with KYC (Know Your Client) regulations.
Artemundi leads in expanding access to digital art markets, lowering barriers in the traditionally exclusive art world. Compliant with Swiss banking regulations, institutional and private investors can buy, sell, and trade fractional ownership of masterpieces, encouraging broader participation in this unique asset class.

This work by Frida Kahlo shows her use of Surrealist strategies while keeping drawing as a tool for exploring the unconscious. The dense calligraphic lines and layered structures, typical of her mid-1940s works, transform landscape into corporeal presence. The volcanic motif, once symbolic of externalized pain, becomes an internalized eruption: trauma is inscribed directly onto the body, with uterus, blood, and wound converging into a single, diagrammatic composition.
Kahlo’s market stature is exceptional relative to her small oeuvre of around 150 works. With only 52 works sold at auction since 2000 and a 100% sell-through rate in recent years, supply remains acutely limited. She holds the auction record for a female artist and is the best-selling Mexican artist to date. Comparable works have consistently exceeded high estimates, pointing to stable demand and robust long-term value growth.
Artemundi and Splint Invest have partnered to offer European investors fractional ownership of this artwork starting at 50€. Investments can be made in Splint Invest’s app, here we kindly ask you to consult all the details about this opportunity.
